So far, it has seemed much more Americanized that we thought it would be...I guess we should have known since the first thing we saw at the airport after we came out of immigration was Starbucks and Burger King! We made our way around pretty easy this afternoon. 99% of everything is in Chinese and English - street signs, subway maps, menus and so far, lots of people have spoken English.
The view from our room:
We look out at the top of this building...Chris is being VERY brave to sleep on the 49th floor!
After a grueling search, we found sticky notes so that we could plan out what we want to do while we're here. We have lots of things we want to do (the bottom rows of sticky's) and just need to figure out when we want to do them! To Chris' dismay, we couldn't find a whiteboard to buy to do this on. :)
We went exploring this afternoon - here is a look down one of the streets we walked on - so far, it has seemed a lot like NYC. Lots of tall buildings with lots of little shops on the bottom floors.
We walked along one edge of Hong Kong Park which is right next to our hotel. Chris needed to stop for a drink of water. :)
