MacGyver the Tree

Our first live Christmas tree, named in honor of MacGyver, is all planted! We're hoping he survived the 3 weeks indoors and will like his new permanent home in the front yard!

More First Snow!

Welcome to our Winter Wonderland (well, that's what Chris has been saying, but I realized it's not officially winter yet....)!

Somehow, all the ferns under the trees are covered, too!

All covered in snow balls! He must have had fun!

I said hi to the neighbor's horses and they all came running over to me! It seemed they were hoping for some warm blankets or to come inside with us! :)
We had to go back out to play a little more at night. Chris had me excited to build a snowman, but it is actually too dry (very rare for around here!). :( We'll have to wait until the next snow.

It has snowed so much today it is up to MacGyver's belly!

Still snowing!

We're up to 6 inches and counting!

First Snow!

I wouldn't say this is what it looked like when I "got up" this morning, but it has slowly accumulated since then! It is still lightly falling!
(Sorry for the blurry pics - I wanted to get a pic without the flash.)

All Moved In

We’re all moved in!

Great room.

Kitchen

Chris is SUPER excited to have his office back! He was a little cramped in the apartment having to share the “dining room” with a table and his desk!

Packing and sorting left in the basement – lots of stuff that was in storage that we need to go through! Although, now that I look at it, it really isn’t so much left!

MacGyver has already found his new favorite spots! I think he will especially like this one in the winter when there is a fire going.

This one allows him to watch the front door and the kitchen and turn around and watch the backyard – just in case there are any intruders he needs to take care of!

Carpet

Carpet is in!

Rock Around Fireplace and Gutters

They put the rock around the fireplace.

Gutters are on - let's hope this doesn't signal the rain to start! :)

Fridge and Mailbox

Our refrigerator got delivered today!

I installed our mailbox – quite proud of myself! It required a little digging help from dad, but other than that, I cemented it in and nailed and screwed it on! As a side note: the numbers are a result of letting a seeing-impaired person pick them out! They are HUGE! No one now has an excuse as to not knowing where to turn!

Update: I blocked out the numbers for security reasons. :) Just know that they are as big as the square that is now there!

Paint and Deck

The house got painted this weekend.

Friday we got our driveway pad and walkway up to the front door.

We got tile around the soaking tub in the master bathroom.

We got most of a our deck off the back door - railing and stairs need to be finished. (A note on the paint: the white trim on the backside hasn't been painted yet. It should help break-up some of the "homemade butterscotch"!)

Lights and Water

Lights got installed today!

As did the plumbing fixtures - toilets, sinks and faucets!

Cabinet Doors, Counter Tops and Bathroom Floors

Cabinet doors are on and counter tops on in!

Island looking into family room. Cooktop and oven will be in that hole.

Bathroom floors have been laid.

We Know Why…

…but HOW did he get himself behind the monitor???

He started here:

And somehow got himself here:

P.S. Chicken on the counter is why! This was after he barked at it and got no response from us…Then we heard things tipping over on the desk and discovered he was on it!

Cabinets, Shakes, and Septic

Kitchen cabinets are in...doors still to come!

Shakes on the front of house are up.

Septic system is in...just needs to be tested and covered.

Drain field is in. It was awesome how they only took out the brush and were able to work it around the trees!

Cabinets and Hardwood

The cabinets got installed today and they went straight to work installing them!

They also started laying the hardwood floors.
